Here is a new 2-drop peyote pattern for the Bead-it-Forward gang. The squares are so small (28×21) that I went with part of a butterfly wing this time. Your choice of colors or bead as-is.

inWe’re going to do a playful pattern because I’m in a silly mood. I redesigned my Spiny Norman hedgehog earrings into a even-count peyote cuff.
There are two different ways to work it:

You can also change the border color, add clouds, hills, trees, etc. in the background, outline the heart, or picot the edges. You could even leave off the heart and attach a charm in its place. Get creative, have fun and Happy Beading!

inThis pattern was squirreled away for sharing but I modified it to use as a background for one of the Bead-it-Forward squares (see post from June 2nd). Today it gets to stand on it’s own. It’s a repeating odd-count peyote pattern, 17 columns wide, and takes 5 colors. When you get to the bottom, start back at the top and work until the desired length. Maybe a bar clasp or a bird- or leaf- shaped button?

inFree Pattern Friday is here again. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to design a butterfly square for Bead-it-Forward. I know some people suffer from brain freeze when asked to make a pattern (I still have that problem from time to time) so I’ve made a graph with a butterfly outline.
Choose your favorite Delica colors to fill in the butterfly and add a background – it can be a solid color or you can get creative: flowers, trees, vines, clouds, etc. Feel free to modify the shape of the butterfly, if you want!
Would you rather stitch than design? Here are two charts that I made for examples. Click the images, right-click and save to your hard drive.
The beaders at Bead-it-Forward would love to see, and stitch, your artwork if you would like to share a link in the comments.
Have fun and Happy Beading!

inThe 2018 Bead-it-Forward theme is butterflies. With that in mind, this week’s free pattern is a peyote stitch butterfly square. It is 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” (28c x 21r). I still had neon colors in my pattern software but you can choose any colors you like.
If you are participating in Bead-it-Forward, don’t forget to check the website or the Facebook page, as Amy has changed some of the information.
If you are not a participant and would like to join in, here is the link to the new website. You can also find the group on Facebook.
Enjoy and happy beading!

inI was in a neon mood today but you can use any colors you like or even work it in two colors. This odd-count peyote bracelet pattern is 13 beads wide and repeats. When you get to the bottom, start back at the top and work until the desired length. Your choice of clasp.
