For International Beading Week, I’m trying some of the wonderful patterns being shared by other beaders. The first one I chose is Smadar Grossman’s, Deco Duo Pendant. The only modification I made was to replace the crystals with Czech fire polish, and that was because I couldn’t find the right color 3mm crystals in my stash.
My version of Justyna Szlezak’s (Eridhan Creations) Blooming Flower pendant from the June 2015 issue of Bead & Button Magazine.
Justyna lost her battle with cancer on August 10, 2015. She was a very talented woman and her designs were so inspiring. She will be missed.
The pattern was challenging, mostly because my fingers protested every step of the way, and halfway through I was still trying to figure out how it was ever going to look like a flower. Two-thirds of the way done and the dim bulb suddenly became a flood light. It was fun to bead and very interesting to watch the design morph.
For the most part, I worked the pattern the way it was written. The center is a little wonky because I didn’t have the right size round bead and replaced it with a rondelle. I also changed the bail.

The Bead-it-Forward 2016 theme is “Space: Out there somewhere, there’s a cure”. I worked Amy’s Crescent Moon pattern. I also stitched a nebula square last night but haven’t taken a photo yet.
In progress. Brooch or pendant? That is the question…
More Hubble stitch. This time I’m attempting to work it in 2-drop tubular. My base row is an embellished double ladder. My fingers don’t want to hold it but I was able to remedy that with a straw.
